Obtaining a law degree at home will allow you to keep your day job, maintain your lifestyle while attend school at the same time. In order to practice law, you must pass the Bar Exam for the state you wish to practice in. In order to sit for the Bar Exam, you must graduate from a law school approved by the American Bar Association.

As a result, if you pass the California Bar Exam, you can practice law in California or in federal court. Do you just want Legal Skills and are not Interested in Practicing Law?

If you do not want to practice law and are not planning on taking the Bar Exam you do not have to worry about the approval of the American Bar Association. If your goal is the executive law degree or you just wish to expand your options in the business world, law distance programs are an excellent option.

Take your time and select an online law school to enroll in very carefully. Make sure that the school of your choice is accredited. It is always a good idea to enroll in a distance learning law program at a school that also has an on-campus program that is ABA accredited. Consider the law curriculum, course offerings and books used and compare them to more traditional law degree programs. Examine the credentials and experience of program faculty. All distance learning programs are not crated equal, take your time and make an educated decision.
