A degree in Christian psychology is an interdisciplinary degree that focuses on the doctrines of the Christian church and the ability to apply these truths to the issues of today’s psychological research.

Christian Psychology Programs

Degree programs in Christian psychology focus on theology course and integration seminars. They are taught by Christian psychologists and philosophers who have biblical degrees. While the main focus is on the study of psychology, this is achieved through a Christian world view. The goal of these programs is to help you related the scientific study of behavior to the truth found in Christ.



Christian psychology programs are usually a year longer than traditional degree programs. However, they provide you with a minor in theology and biblical studies, in addition to a master’s or doctoral degree in psychology. You will weigh psychological concepts in light of God’s revealed Word about man. In addition to the traditional courses offered by master’s or doctoral degree programs in psychology, you will also study Exegesis I (New Testament), Christian counseling training, spiritual gifts in crisis counseling, law for the Christian counselors as well as discovering the old testament.

With this degree, like any other psychology major, you can pursue careers that are people –related. You can work in social services, counseling, teaching, management, as well as many other areas.
